About Dr. Lamping

Dr. Jeffrey Lamping is a fellowship-trained spine surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive and traditional surgical techniques. He treats patients experiencing nerve-related symptoms, such as pain, weakness, or numbness, often caused by conditions like spinal instability, tumors, trauma, infections, degenerative spine disease, or complications from previous surgeries.

Emphasizing a conservative, nonsurgical approach as the first step in treatment, Dr. Lamping works closely with a team of therapists and nonoperative spine specialists to reduce discomfort, enhance mobility, and improve overall quality of life. When nonsurgical treatments fail to provide relief, he recommends the most suitable surgical option for lasting results.

Dr. Lamping received his Bachelor of Science degree in general engineering from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois. He then completed his Master of Science degree in bioengineering at The University of Kansas School of Engineering in Lawrence and went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Kansas Medical Center School of Medicine in Kansas City. Dr. Lamping then underwent orthopaedic surgery residency training at Corewell Health in Royal Oak, Michigan. Following residency training, he further refined his skills through a spine fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Lamping is a proud member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Michigan Orthopaedic Society, and North American Spine Society.
