About Dr. Howell

Dr. Richard Howell’s specialties as an orthopaedic surgeon are surgery of the hand and wrist. He graduated with distinction from Kenyon College and received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Ohio State University College of Medicine, followed by his residency at Henry Ford Hospital. After completing his fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery, Dr. Howell became an instructor in the hand fellowship program and in the orthopaedic residency program at the State University of New York at Buffalo. He was a practicing orthopaedic hand surgeon on the staff of Spectrum Orthopaedics (Canton, Ohio) from 1997 until 2006, when he joined Shoreline Orthopaedics. Dr. Howell is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications for Surgery of the Hand. He is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Dr. Howell is affiliated with both Holland Hospital (Holland, Michigan) and Corewell Health Zeeland Hospital (Zeeland, Michigan). He is currently accepting new patients.
