With experience in all specialties of orthopaedics, Brian works with many physicians in our group. His passion for orthopaedic medicine began while being active in sports, experiencing injuries of his own, and caring for other athletes as an athletic training student in high school and college. His schooling in athletic training and exercise science gave him a broad understanding of many aspects of orthopaedic injuries and athletics. Brian has the compassion and determination necessary to provide patients with the individual attention and care they need to achieve the best recovery possible.
Brian received his bachelor of science from Western Michigan University in 2012. He then moved to Grand Rapids where he attended Grand Valley State University for physician assistant studies, graduating in 2014. His master's thesis, "The Functional Outcomes of Tibial Plateau Fractures," gave him a great perspective on evidence-based medicine and the importance of the patient's recovery relating to his or her quality of life. Brian's clinical experience has been focused on orthopaedics, having completed rotations with multiple groups in the West Michigan area. He has been certified as a physician assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is an active member in local and national PA organizations.
During his education, Brian's volunteer participation included Borgess Hospital and a variety of other organizations. He is eager to spend time with student athletes in the West Michigan area. Brian currently enjoys golfing, skiing, tennis, and social sport leagues.
